Cookie Editor is built to respect your privacy. This policy explains exactly what the extension does and does not do with your data.

What the extension accesses

• Cookies. Cookie Editor reads, creates, edits, and deletes cookies for the sites you visit, so you can manage them. This happens entirely on your own device. Your cookies are never sent to us or any third party by this extension.
• The active tab’s URL. Used only to know which site’s cookies to show. It is not logged or transmitted.

What is stored, and where

All extension data is stored locally on your device using chrome.storage.local:

• Saved accounts / cookie profiles — the cookie sets you choose to save.
• License state — your Pro license key and activation status.

This data never leaves your device except for license validation (below).

The only network request we make

When you activate Cookie Editor Pro, your license key is sent to Polar (api.polar.sh) to verify the purchase and activate your license. This is the sole external network request the extension makes. Polar’s handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policy: https://polar.sh/legal/privacy.

If you never activate a license, the extension makes no external network requests at all.

What we do NOT do

• We do not collect, sell, or share your cookies or browsing data.
• We do not use analytics, trackers, or advertising.
• We do not maintain any server that receives your data (other than Polar for license checks, as described above).

Permissions, and why

• cookies + host access (<all_urls>) — required to read and modify cookies for the sites you manage. Broad host access is necessary because cookies can belong to any site you choose to edit.
• storage — to save your accounts and license locally.
• alarms — to re-validate your license periodically.
• clipboardWrite — to let you copy exported cookies.

Removing your data

Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data. You can also clear it anytime via the extension’s license screen (Deactivate) or your browser’s storage controls.
